How do I register to bid?
At the top of each online auction catalog page there is a “Register / Login” button. Click on that button and follow the prompts.
How do I know if I have won the auction?
Your online bidding dashboard should let you know the status of your current bids. After each auction we process payments, and email invoices, to each of our winning bidders.
What are the payment options available?
We accept most credit and debit cards. A wire transfer might be required on larger purchases.
How long do I have to make payment for my purchase?
Most payments are processed at the conclusion of each auction. For larger purchases we ask that wire transfers be initiated within 3 business days.
How do I arrange for shipping or pick up of the item?
In your winning bidder invoice email, there will be a link to a Sign-Up Genius schedule for local pick-ups. If you need shipping, please respond to that email letting us know that you need shipping. We work with a local UPS franchise, and they will contact you directly to discuss options.
What is the condition of the item?
The condition is usually described in the catalog description and in the photographs for the catalog. If you have specific questions, please ask and we will do our best to answer them.
Can I see additional photos or a video of the item?
Simply email us with that request and we will respond as quickly as we can.
Is there a reserve price on the item?
The KC Auction and Appraisal Company rarely charges a reserve price. If we do, it will be noted in the catalog.
Can I retract my bid if I change my mind?
During the auction possibly. Once the auction is complete absolutely not. Please realize that cancelling a bid will negate all future bidding rights.
What happens if the item is damaged during shipping?
We highly recommend insuring everything that you purchase that is being shipped. All claims would be handled between the buyer and UPS.
Are there any warranties or guarantees offered on the item?
Yes. If you receive an item from the KC Auction & Appraisal Company and it is not as represented contact us immediately. We are humans and do make mistakes. However, if we state “In the style of” or “Looks like” type of descriptors, then there is no guarantee implied.
What is the bidding process and how does it work?
All bids are placed through our online bidding platform. Once you are registered, you can bid on items in that auction.
What is a buyer’s premium?
A buyer’s premium is a service charge added to your high bid.
Are there any additional fees, such as a buyer’s premium?
Yes. We currently charge an 18% buyer’s premium.
Can I bid on multiple items at once?
Yes. If you have an account in good standing.
How long is the auction open for bidding?
Online bidding is generally open between 7 and 15 days.
Do you charge sales tax?
We charge sales tax on auctions with multiple sellers, also know as consignment auctions. We do not charge sales tax on estate auctions or coin auctions.
