John Coultis founded John Coultis Design in 1949 and the firm is still going strong today. John worked in the business for more than 60 years and during that time he collected outstanding antique furniture, mid-century modern furniture, architectural items, and all kinds of related items. We are honored to bring this collection to the market. John attended Missouri Military Academy and served our country before being accepted into the Parsons School of Design in New York. After graduating from Parsons he decided to come back to Wichita for a year. That year turned into 60, and during that time John worked on commercial, corporate and residential projects. Some of his more interesting projects were several private jets and multiple US Embassies around the globe including embassies in Italy, Germany, Ireland and Morocco.

We were proud to bring the personal art collection of Jerre Pace McGary to auction. Jerre owned Expressions in Fine Art in Santa Fe for 16 years and then she owned Opus Arte Gallery in Brookside for 2 years. Jerre has now downsized and has chosen us to liquidate her personal collection. These are works that spoke to Jerre over the years and are mainly from her time in Santa Fe. All pieces were offered with no reserve. Artists included Antonio Arellanes, Zhang Wenxin, Ramona Mitchell, Armond Lara, Reagan Word, Oleg Stavrowsky, Jerome Gastaldi, Doug Coffin, and many more.

For the second time in just a few months we are honored and humbled to be asked to sell the collection of a long time colleague. I have known Steve and Judy Ball for more than 20 years and have always thought that I wanted to be like them when I grow up. Their knowledge of antiques, art, collectibles and decorative arts are only second to their willingness to share with a one time newbie like me.
Steve and Judy have sold their 4,000 square foot building and when that happens stuff needs to go! We sold more than 400 lots of artwork, furniture, folk art, decorative items and more. The list is really too long to detail here but one of my favorite groups of items in the auction is Steve’s collection of early Kansas City photographs. None of these have been for sale before.
